Dr. Carol A. Trakimas is the President and Lead Dermatologist of Dermatology Solutions of North Carolina Cares, Inc, a 501c(3) charitable organization.

 

Affectionately known as ‘Dr T., Dr Trakimas is a native of Buffalo, NY. Dr. Trakimas received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internship and specialty residency training at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.  Serving as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, Dr. Trakimas provided medical and dermatology care to our troops and their families in multiple theaters throughout the world. During her military career, Dr. Trakimas served as Chief of Dermatology at Ft. Bragg, and has since been in private practice for 23 years providing general medical, surgical, and cosmetic Dermatologic consultations to patients in North Carolina.

 

Dr Trakimas is is a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the North Carolina Dermatology Association, and many other medical societies.

 

As a champion of human rights causes, Dr. Trakimas has shared her talents with charities and goodwill organizations throughout the world and within her own community. In 2022, she founded Dermatology Solutions of North Carolina Cares, Inc to provide complementary skin cancer screenings to the residents of the state of North Carolina.

Her mission is to prevent skin cancer and lower its incidence in North Carolina by taking a proactive approach providing screening exams; assisting in fostering the early detection of skin cancer. She hopes to save as many lives as possible from this disease.

 

Dr Trakimas also desires to be the peoples advocate dedicated to providing education and information on the detection and prevention of skin cancer.
